i got baptized as a jw around the end of 1981 and continued as an active publisher for about eight years.
however, i gradually started to become disenchanted with the organization.
it wasnt just one thing, but an accumulation of things that eventually got to me.

blondies post on an earlier thread re the gate crashers at the assemblies running to "save" the best seats got me to thinking..
just what constitutes a "good seat" at an assembly?
i've never quite understood that.
The only good seat was at home in my recliner with a really good suspense novel.

they asked me why in mark 10:17-18 did jesus did not accept the adjetive "good master" and said "there is none good but one, that is god".
he knows i believe in the trinity and said that if jesus was god, how come he didn't accept this simple adjetive?
he also asked me why if jesus is god and is called the "firstborn" in many verses in the bible such as colossians 1:15, 16, isn't this adjetive applied to the father or the holy spirit, since we believe that firstborn here means having greater rank, preeminence.
CA, here's something to think about in relation to Jesus being quoted as saying "There is none good but one, that is God.." Remember where it says "In the beginning.......the word was god..."? Also, along with these two scriptures, you can research the fact that Jesus is quoted as saying that he HAD to do this...(come as a sacrifice, etc...don't recall the exact words or scripture) ....IMHO, Jesus, being the word of God, God's offspring, in the beginning (Genesis means "beginning") inspired the scriptures to be written presenting his own activities as God's...ie: the word posed as God doing the creating, and his presence here on earth in person as Jesus to be sacrificed was a penalty for having usurped God's place in the scriptures.....
The above is what I'd say if I believed in all that shtuff that earthling men wrote....

i just read blondies watchtower comments and was thinking about the j-duds and their version of love.they talk about how god loved us even when we were sinners.
a policy far removed from the j-duds.
my daughter, who i have custody of, has been having trouble with her j-dud mother.

iam grateful for my witness experience.
for the personal development the experience has given me.i belive the experience has made me a better man not a lesser man.. admittadly any positivnes that has come out of the negative is at great cost.
that i have been more angry than sad.that i have been unable to educate and warn those indoctrinated in this lie.

Mostly they would just hide and I can't blame 'em for that...woulda done the same if I'd known what I know now....only persecution was from a man who appeared at his door buck nekkid....persecution was in the form of not being able to see him very well through the screen door as the house was too dark inside....<sighs>
